Conversations With A Blank Page

Why are you making that sound?

Blip three times.

Oh, right.

Alright stop.

Stop taunting me.

Well, clearly, you’re doing something. And on top of all that, you’re talking to me.

You can’t even do that.

Laugh Out Loud. You can’t laugh out loud. That’s existentially impossible.

See? My point exactly. You’re taunting! You have no regard for how I feel this morning. You don’t care whether I have doubts about my abilities or not, you just sit there, blipping all day, waiting for me to fight you. No matter how many words I write, no matter how many times I come back to spew my soul, experiences — or even the experiences of others! — once I take a break, you’re back, blipping all over the place.

Now what? You have nothing to say? Do you finally admit that you’re inconsiderate, heartless and a sadistic boss who thrives on taunting people?

Say something. Anything.

Yes. This silence is really uncomfortable to be honest.

What did I say earlier?

Argh! Yes!

Oh my god!
