“I’ve had to learn to fight all my life — got to learn to keep smiling. If you smile things will work out”
— Serena Williams
If you make anything, no matter how small it is, I want you to know that what you do is important. What you do takes courage. What you do requires that you go to places few a willing to go and pull from an unlimited source few want to tap from.
It doesn’t matter how many followers or views or likes or clicks.
Be proud of yourself.
It takes a lot of strength to put your work out for others to poke and judge and tell you how it could be better.
We all know someone who watches soccer games and is the best coach from their couch.
You can think about one of such people, yes?
They give you all the theory in the world, recommend you all kinds of books. They know everything about making everything, but never actually make anything.
You’re not one of those.
“Never give up on your dream… because you never know what the Lord can bless you with” — Kelly Rowland
You’re willing to trust the process. You’ve taken the first step. You took it when they all said you couldn’t even as you shivered with fear.
You’re confident in your ability to learn and grow and willing to make mistakes, even as the thought makes you nervous.
I am proud of you.
I believe in you.
You know you’ve got this.
This is just a reminder of what we both know.
Keep making. Keep working. Keep doing what your heart calls for.
The world is grateful for your service and many more — like me — can’t wait to rejoice with you for your victory and your lessons.
“Forget about being an expert or a professional, and wear your amateurism (your heart, your love) on your sleeve. Share what you love, and the people who love the same things will find you.” ― Austin Kleon
