Hi Nicole, I just read your comment and wanted to appreciate your well-articulated argument. I agree with you that one should not have a single source of income; the world in which we live is ruthless for such shortsightedness.

I also wanted to note that the headline of this article, as well as the content, specifically focused on Medium. I think it would be a tad hard to talk about multiple sources of income in an article that really focused on earning on Medium.

My assumption is that many people on Medium, hopefully, know that it can’t be their be-all and end-all. And like you mentioned, Ayo himself had a job and worked his way out of it — not just through Medium but through writing. We can both see that his first article wasn’t even on the platform.

Maybe there was some miscommunication to his intention, but the way I read this article, I saw only advice for Medium, not because it’s the only place to write, but because it’s what the author wanted to focus on for this article.
