I don’t remember the quote well, but it revolves around ‘writing what you know’.
I think your sentence explains how that happens, even with fiction.
Knowing my audience has always served as a powerful reason to write and a huge obstacle, all at once.
I guess we can never really know how the audience will react until they meet our stories, you know?
Then again, those who are really close to the story will feel it.
All we can do is do our part and write.
