I feel inadequate all the time. Like I’m not smart enough or good enough. Or handsome enough.

Then I remember that I don’t have to be smart/good / [insert other adjective] to be who I am. To be the person writing this or to make a difference, no matter how small.

I don’t need to be Louis CK or Chris Rock to make someone laugh.

I don’t need to be Stephen King to write fiction. Or Maya Angelou to write poetry.

I just have be me. And show up everyday. Even in my inadequacy. One day at a time.

1% percent daily improvement compounds.

I’ll never feel adequate. But I won’t let the feeling stop me from trying.

I think it’s better to try. What do you think?
