I have a draft on this same subject and it essentially hinges on why I choose to celebrate with more thinking and reflection.
I think I have never really asked myself why all the fanfare and food.
Now that I am spending my first Christmas away from my parents and siblings, and in a new country, I get to redefine what it means to me and talk about that with my wife.
It’s been a refreshing discovery that I am more concerned about what it means to me than what ‘the world’ has decided it is.
We can still celebrate without being festive.
Nice piece!
