Just, Maybe.

“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” ― Jalaluddin Rumi

Maybe focusing on where we’re headed could guide actions in the present.

Business. Relationships. Life. Heaven. Universe.

Just, maybe.

What if we chose the soil on which we sowed our seeds? What if we chose our seeds? What if we chose the additives to support their growth?

What if we did all this with the image of the tree in our minds?

Taking off the weed, draining the surplus water, fighting the pestilence, protecting from other castes.

There is only now. There is only this moment. I think that’s why we feel bored with cliches: they reiterate what our parents, and grandparents told us.

We ignore the truth because we’ve heard it too many times.

Of course, I should treat my neighbor better.

Of course, I should be respectful.

Of course, I should work harder.

Of course, I should be kinder.

We all know what we “should” do.

At night, when we’re quiet, alone in our heads, talking with the voice of our souls, we know the truth.

So, whenever we get the chance, we drown it. We distract the voice: notifications, defensiveness, accusations, blame-seeking, complaining, pleasure, abuse, hate.

We can run from it, we can reduce the whispers we know are the true melody of our purpose on earth. Sometimes, we even think we’ve driven it away.

O, how human.

You see, even in the forests of weed, the seed would fight. Before she dies, she will give her best shot.

The soul will show signs, seek the truth, long for purpose and beckon destiny.

It’s easier to drown her. To succumb to the world. To refuse your calling. To avoid the pain of living a purposeful stay on earth.

Maybe focusing on where we’re headed could guide actions in the present.

Maybe listening to the voice would lead you to peace, freedom from the flesh, in accordance with the higher truth.

Maybe making the hard choices, shunning the noise, choosing gratitude, and true, love.

Maybe acknowledging your quartet in the symphony of existence, in accordance with the whispers and the higher truth.

The wave is the ocean. The ocean is the wave.

I find that listening to the voice, brings waves of clarity.

Prayer is powerful. Mediation too. Contemplation in silence, and even observation with intent.

There is immense power in being still. If you choose to seize it.

Maybe focusing on where we’re headed could guide actions in the present.

Just, maybe.
