My problem is with the marketer who doesn’t care about my art.

For marketing to work, whatever the type of product, the product must be good”.

I disagree. Is Coca-Cola inherently good? Are Big Macs inherently good? Sugared water? Etc? These are, quite frankly, unhealthy products. But they’re well marketed. So, they sell.

Marketing can make poor stuff great.

Example: if a mediocre book is marketed across all available platforms, if whenever you turn on the TV, or go to Facebook, or hear the radio, someone is talking about the book, you might want to buy it.

Even if you later on find out that the book was crap.

That is the kind of marketing I have issues with.

Marketing is essential. But when horrible products are marketed to the point where they become average products, then we have a problem.
