Thank you so much. Reading this, I feel I have a mentor on my side and though the outlook may be bleak, there is hope and I am grateful for it.
I have been very lucky to come across many Americans — both offline and online — who have been nothing but kind, helpful and genuine. I have written ( and will continue to write) about this because I feel there is a terrible misunderstanding of the realities of America.
I moved with a warped perception ( even though I had been consuming American content for a long time) and I can see things from both ends. I can see why people back in Cameroon will suddenly assume that once anyone steps foot in America, their lives become suddenly better.
Such a shame.
My simple description of both worlds is that the problem in each arent’ better or worse, they’re simply different.
I am worried about the future, but I am also aware of how much that worry could be of better use if invested in my talents and my youth.
I will take your advice and prepare for the worst while hoping for the best.
I pray things to work out for us all sooner than later.
I am grateful for your friendship. Thank you.
