I’m about to go read the article because you left a link in this piece.
That’s something I love with your teaching: you’re not afraid to say things as you think and provide room for conversation.
In your video, you mentioned giving a balanced POV. I scrolled down the comments (YouTube) and still found someone who was vitriolic about your very clear discourse and argument.
I don’t know if there’s another way to put this excuse argument more blatantly.
Half-truths are worse than total lies.
They have some truth in them and ‘the masses’ will hang on precisely because of the nature of the lie.
In a weird way, I’m excited by this. If more people justify their inaction by blaming an impersonal system for their lack of work ethic and adaptability, I believe that’s simply what Darwin explained.
Medium pays its writers.
Medium listens (Grammarly’s integration saved me hours in new tabs and clicks).
Medium connects (I’ve reached out to amazing writers through private notes).
Medium allows you to practice in public for free and get actual data on how good you are.
What more do people want?
It’s 2018. You cannot expect any single source of income to support your bills and lifestyle.
The more people find excuses to not grow, the more those who understand the game get to play.
